Wedio Raises €1.25M in Seed Funding

Wedio, an Aarhus, Denmark-based peer-to-peer camera renting community, raised €1.25M in Seed funding.

Backers included VF Venture and Founderment. In addition, the company raised over €150K via a crowdfunding campaign on Wefunder. With new capital of €450k, this brings the total seed round to €1.25M distributed as follows:
– VF Venture (now a part of Denmark’s Export and Investment Fund (EIFO)) : €600,000
– Founderment and other existing private investors: €500,000
– Wefunder campaign: €156,867

The company intends to use the funds to expand its community to other European markets.

Founded in April 2018 by Daniel Sand, Kasper Vesth and Morten Aebeloe, Wedio is a camera-sharing community which allows filmmakers and photographers to rent professional film equipment with global insurance. The company has:

  • A community of almost 100,000 monthly creators
  • More than 20,000 listings worth over 40 million euros in equipment value on the platform.
