Universal Ledger Raises $10M in Funding

Universal Ledger, a crypto startup that enables users to build their own crypto wallets, raised $10m in funding. 

The round was led by Hard Yaka.

The company

Led by CEO Kirk Chapman, The Universal Ledger (UL) is a wallet-as-a-service platform, providing developers and engineers with an API and event-driven architecture on which they can build compliant digital wallet experiences that allow assets to be moved globally, in real time.

The UL platform allows businesses, NGOs, financial institutions, and governments to use blockchain technology and digital (token) representations of actual currency to provide economic benefits and financial services digitally to their citizens and customers, with the trust of identity.

Kirk Chapman served as the Head of Technology for Independence National Bank from 2016-2017. He was responsible for leading and building an online lending platform to compete in the SoFi, Lending Club, Prosper marketplace. Chapman previously served as Sr. Director of Engineering for ND Bank.
