Unyoked, a Sydney, New South Wales, Australia-based nature-focused hospitality company, raised EUR 18M in funding.
The round was led by SURPLUS Equity Partners GmbH and Realside Financial Group.
The company intends to use the funds to expand its presence in Europe and add further locations to its offering in the U.K., Australia, and New Zealand. The team will prioritize this expansion in the U.K., Scandinavia, Germany, BeneLux, Austria, and Switzerland.
Founded in 2016 by Chris Grant, Unyoked puts completely off-the-grid shelters in natural locations, picked by the team, within 2 hours of major cities. The cabins measure approximately 3m x 9m, are built with quality materials and are equipped with a compact kitchen and a refined bathroom. They are individually optimized for each target market and adapted to different climatic and weather conditions.
The company currently operates around 100 off-grid cabins in Australia, New Zealand, and since its successful launch in 2022, also in the UK.
