Ember LifeSciences Receives Investment from Carrier Ventures

Ember LifeSciences, a Westlake Village, CA innovator in the pharmaceutical cold chain industry, received an investment from Carrier Global Corporation (NYSE: CARR)’s corporate VC, Carrier Ventures.

The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

The company intends to use the funds to advance temperature control innovations including the self-refrigerated, cloud-based shipping box.

Founded by Clay Alexander, Ember creates, designs, and develops temperature control products based on over 129 granted patents surrounding temperature control, data, and connectivity. Launched in 2022 as a healthcare-focused spinoff of Ember Technologies, Inc., Ember offers a self-refrigerated, cloud-based shipping box. Using built-in cellular radio and GPS, the Ember Cube reports location, temperature and humidity levels to the cloud for real-time tracking. The reusable and rechargeable shipping box features a refrigeration system to help ensure the safety of temperature-sensitive biologics while in transit.
