MySimplePetLab, a Minneapolis, MN-based provider of home pet diagnostic tests, raised an undisclosed amount in Series A funding.

The round was led by Mars Companion Fund, with participation from Jeff Cowan, and Jeremy Friese.

The company intends to use the funds to grow its team, expand consumer lab testing, and scale up its technology to automate points of friction in the pet care space.

Founded by Dr. Nancy Willerton and Dr. Dennis Chmiel and led by CEO & President Jen Hagness, MySimplePetLab offers routine testing for the most common health concerns among dog and cat owners including stool, urine, ears, and skin & itch. Veterinarians or pet parents receive a kit in the mail for sample collection that is then shipped back to MySimplePetLab. The company runs the samples in their own lab based in Denver, and provides on demand results and automation that are shared directly with pet owners, veterinarians, and animal care teams.

Test kits are currently available through the vet channel in veterinary clinics and animal care services such as boarders and groomers.
