CloudTruth Raises $2.4M in Seed Funding

CloudTruth

CloudTruth, a Boston, MA-based DevSecOps platform company that helps enterprise development teams manage their cloud configurations, raised $2.4M in seed funding.

The round was led by UBMB with participation from existing investors Glasswing Ventures, York IE, and Stage 1 Ventures.

The company intends to use the funds to scale its go-to-market approach, expand its customer base, and deliver product which charges DevSecOps pipeline build teams.

Led by newly appointed CEO Christian Tate, CloudTruth accelerates build pipelines with a systematic way to inject and manage all configurations, including secrets, into code releases which improves developer, DevOps, and Platform Engineering productivity.

According to Emergen Research, the global DevSecOps market will reach $23.4 billion by 2028. The rising need for repeatable, adaptive processes and custom code security are key factors driving industry demand. DevSecOps teams struggle to manage secrets and uniform configuration schema for cloud and application resources. Configuration complexity causes outages, security flaws, and decreased team velocity.

In addition to the new funding and executive appointment news, the team launches new features for DevOps, Developers, and Platform Engineering teams, including:

  • Secrets Federated Manager / Broker
  • Terraform Provider
  • Kubernetes Operator
  • Secret Store Integrations: Hashi Vault, AWS Secrets Mgr, Azure Key Vault, and GCP SM
  • CI/CD Integrations: GitHub Actions, GitLab Pipelines, Argo CD, CircleCI, and Jenkins
  • Role Based Access Control (RBAC)
  • Advanced Temples (Inheritances and Overrides)
  • History, Change Tracking, Audit, and Reporting

Previously, Tate was part of the business development and leadership team that grew Double-Take Software from single-digit to triple-digit revenue growth, IPO, and exit to Thoma Bravo. At Hitachi Vantara, he served as Vice President of Corporate Development and was responsible for the company’s storage, IIoT, and Cloud technologies. Reporting to Founder and Chief Product Officer Greg Arnette, Tate is responsible for leading CloudTruth’s operations, sales, and marketing teams.
