Kona Raises $4M in Seed Funding

Kona, a San Francisco, CA-based employee experience platform for remote teams, raised $4M in Seed funding.

The round was led by Unusual Ventures with participation from Evolutionary Ventures, Evolution, 2.12 Angels, Louis Beryl, David Carrico, James Beshara, and Jeff Wilke.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate growth and expand operations.

Led by CEO Sid Pandiya and co-founder Corine Tan, Kona provides an employee experience platform for remote teams to improve engagement, management, culture, and employee well-being.

The system helps managers build people-first leadership skills, enabling them to build daily habits to build trust and stay on top of mental health. The first Kona habit is sharing how people feel at work. Managers use Kona to conduct daily emotional check ins in Slack, allowing them to immediately identify and mitigate instances of burnout. Kona coaches managers on how to support team members in key moments of stress and work-related frustration. With Kona, companies gain nuanced, real-time data and analytics about why burnout trends occur that can be used to build culture, to take action to prevent attrition, and create a psychologically safe team environment.

The solution is currently used by more than 300 remote teams including those at such companies as Oyster, Buffer, Aircall, GoodRx, TeamSnap, Veriff, among others.
