Shares Closes $40M in Series A Funding

Shares, a London, UK-based provider of an investment app with social features, raised $40M in Series A funding.

Backers included Valar Ventures, Singular and Global Founders Capital. The round takes the total investment in the startup to $50m.

The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and its business reach.

Co-Founded by Benjamin Chemla, Chief Executive Officer, François Ruty, Chief Technology Officer and Harjas Singh, Chief Product Officer, Harjas Singh, Shares is an investment app and social community for any investor to make trades, manage their portfolio, and discuss opportunities with friends. With Shares, family, friends and seasoned investors can invest together, sharing knowledge and experience to inspire long-term growth in their investments. The app is now available for all users to download via Apple Store and Google Play. 

In nine months, the company has hired over 130 full-time employees and established its first three offices in London, Paris and Krakow.
