Barnfox, an Hudson, NY-based work and retreat company, raised $1M in funding.
Funding came from Foster Supply Hospitality, among others.
The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and its business reach.
Created in collaboration between remote work serial entrepreneur Frederick Pikovsky and industrial designer Tim Tedesco, Barnfox is a network of design-focused, community-driven workspaces bridging cities to getaway destinations. The company offers a diverse, community-driven environment for individuals and companies.
Barnfox has announced the opening of its first Manhattan location and the launch of its Residencies Program to
help companies decentralize their workforce and open connected community hubs. Barnfox opened in February 2020 to provide a people-centric workspace close to nature. With the launch of Residencies and the debut of its first NYC location, joining its three locations in the most trafficked getaway destinations in the Hudson Valley and the Catskills, Barnfox has created the first network of design-focused, community-driven work and retreat spaces bridging cities to getaway destinations.
The first Company in Residence, mental health startup Nirvana Health, commissioned Barnfox to create a connected work and retreat space to support the hybrid/remote nature of its workforce.
Fortune 500 companies including Calvin Klein have previously organized company offsites utilizing Barnfox work and retreat spaces. Located in the heart of Union Square on 821 Broadway, the company’s newest work and retreat space allows members the ability to work from its network of city and getaway locations. The space is also equipped with signature amenities including complimentary nitro coffee and kombucha on tap, a snack bar stocked with local vendors, and outdoor events in seasonal rotation that includes kayaking on the Hudson River, cycling, yoga classes, and farm-to-table dinners that help members form bonds with each other and with the local community.
To create a fully integrated offsite retreat ecosystem, Barnfox introduced an accommodations program in early 2021, a curated collection of boutique hotels, private homes, rustic cabins, and lodging experiences which are all located within five miles of a Barnfox workspaces. Members get access to exclusive booking rates and benefits for a seamless work retreat or company offsite experience in getaway destinations.
As part of the company’s continued growth, Barnfox has hired Kiel Lawrence as Head of Development, who will also join the Board of Directors.
