Phylos Raises $7.6M in Funding

Phylos, a Portland, OR-based crop science company developing Cannabis and hemp genetics, raised $7.6M in funding.

The round was led by Merida Capital Holdings, Accomplice and Entourage Effect Capital. In conjunction with the funding, Mina Mishrikey, Senior Partner at Merida, will be joining the Phylos board of directors.

The company intends to use the funds to expand sales and marketing efforts for its market-validated Cannabis and hemp genetics.

Led by Ralph Risch (CEO), Alisha Holloway (Chief Scientific Officer) and Dylan Anderson (Chief Financial Officer), Phylos is a crop science company developing advanced Cannabis and hemp genetics. The company collaborates with breeders through royalty-bearing licensing deals to ensure they’re fairly compensated for their dedication to the advancement of Cannabis and hemp, protecting IP to promote innovation and support funding research to further knowledge of the Cannabis genome. Phylos also provides no-cost technology licensing for academic institutions and non-profits, specifically for research purposes.
