Instrumental, a Palo Alto, CA-based manufacturing optimization software provider, raised $50M in Series C funding.

The round was led by BAM Elevate, with participation from Canaan, Root Ventures and Eclipse Ventures. In conjunction with the funding, Jamie McGurk, the General Partner who led BAM Elevate’s investment, joined Instrumental’s Board of Directors.

The company intends to use the funds to expand research and development for new products and make hires in engineering and go-to-market teams.

Led by CEO Anna-Katrina Shedletsky, Instrumental is a core infrastructure provider for companies optimizing their manufacturing processes. Instrumental Inc.’s cloud platform serves as the AI-enabled backbone for companies optimizing their manufacturing processes, through automated technology that detects defects, identifies root causes and delivers actionable insights to global teams. Some brands including Axon, Bose, Cisco Meraki, Honeywell, and SolarEdge, use Instrumental’s cloud platform and AI to accelerate time-to-market, improve yields, eliminate rework, and save engineering time.
