Goodcall Raises $4M in Seed Funding

Goodcall

Goodcall, a Cupertino, CA-based conversational AI platform for local restaurants, shops, and merchants across the U.S., raised $4m in seed funding.

The round was led by strategic investors Neo, Foothill Ventures (early investor in Zoom), Merus Capital, Xoogler Ventures, Verissimo Ventures, VSC Ventures, Harry Hurst, founder/co-CEO of Pipe.com, Spencer Rascoff, co-founder of Zillow and other angels.

The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand operations and its business reach.

Founded in 2021 by CEO and former Google executive Bob Summers, Goodcall leverages its AI-empowered incoming phone call management platform to provide enterprise support for businesses of all sizes.

The platform provides a free, 24-7 conversational AI phone assistant for local businesses that can be installed in minutes. The company is debuting with a partnership with Yelp, the company that connects people with local businesses, to simplify the task of creating and managing conversational AI technology. The collaboration enables Goodcall’s platform to integrate with Yelp’s data, allowing local business owners and managers to set up their Goodcall conversational AI phone assistant quickly.

The cloud-based conversational AI assistant lives on a local phone number that is published to Yelp, Facebook, Wix, and Google My Business, assisting callers by asking: “How can I help you?” The assistant then replies based on the caller request and customizable configurations from the business owner or manager. The AI technology continually evolves to be more efficient and effective with every phone call it manages. The service is initially deployed in English with plans to operate in Spanish, French and Hindi by 2022.
