TicketSwap, an Amsterdam, The Netherlands-based online marketplace for buying and selling tickets, raised $10m (€8.2m) in funding.
The round was led by Million Monkeys.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate growth, add new features for its users, and expand to new markets.
Led by Hans Ober, founder and CEO, TicketSwap is an online platform where users can sell their tickets for concerts, festivals, sports events and theatres. A cap on the sales price and verification of the sellers protects buyers from exorbitant prices and fake tickets. It ensures that every ticket finds a buyer that can attend the event and that fans have more chances to join their favourite event.
Over 5 million fans have used the platform to buy and sell spare tickets to live events worldwide, from concerts and club nights to festivals, theatre and sporting events. TicketSwap works with over 300 partners worldwide to ensure venues, event organisers, and promoters take back control of secondary ticketing.
