Language I/O Raises $5M in Series A Funding

Language I/O, a Cheyenne, Wyo.-based provider of a software solution enabling real-time communication with customers in any language over any channel, raised $5m in Series A funding.

Bob Davoli of Gutbrain Ventures and Bruce Clarke of PBJ Capital co-led the round, joined by Omega Venture Partners, Michael Wilens, Tom Axbey and Eric Schnadig, and Golden Seeds. Davoli and Axbey will join the Language I/O board of directors.

The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand operations and its business reach.

Co-founded by CEO Heather Morgan Shoemaker and CBO Kaarina Kvaavik, Language I/O allows organizations to provide real-time customer support in more than 100 languages, ensuring that company-specific terms are accurately translated through its proprietary core technology.

The AI technology enables Language I/O to quickly generate accurate, company-specific translations of all user-generated content (UGC) including jargon, slang, abbreviations and misspellings into over 100 languages via chat, email, article and social support channels. It is accessible directly via API and seamlessly integrates with all major CRMs, including Salesforce Service Cloud, Oracle Service Cloud and Zendesk. Language I/O is ISO 27001 certified and GDPR compliant. Enterprise customers include Constant Contact (CTCT), Shutterstock (SSTK), PhotoBox and Brave.
