IBM (NYSE:IBM) is to acquire Taos, a San Jose, California-based cloud professional and managed services provider.
The amount of the deal – subject to customary closing conditions and expected to close in the first quarter of 2021 – was not disclosed.
The acquisition, which follows the acquisition of European cloud consulting leader Nordcloud on December 21, 2020, will advance IBM’s cloud migration and transformation capabilities, a fundamental factor of its hybrid cloud platform growth strategy.
Led by Hamilton Yu, CEO, Taos is a large multi-cloud consulting and managed services firm which brings 30 years of experience with main brands across technology, financial services, healthcare, retail, transportation and education. An adopter of public cloud technologies, Taos signed meanigful partnerships with Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, and Microsoft Azure to deliver data center migration, platform engineering and hybrid cloud managed services.
