Classcraft Raises $7.5M in Series A Financing

classcraftClasscraft, a Quebec- and New York City-based learning company focused on improving student motivation in the K-12 education market, closed its Series A financing, raising a total of $7.5m ($10m CAD).

The round was led by Investissement Québec, with participation from existing investors Whitecap Venture Partners, Brightspark Ventures, and MaRS Catalyst Fund.

The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand operations and its business reach.

Founded in 2013 by brothers Shawn and Devin Young and their father, Lauren Young, Classcraft is an edtech company providing educators with tools to motivate students by making learning fun. It combines time-tested pedagogy with a modern approach, harnessing the power of games and stories to promote connections between students and teachers that make learning more meaningful.
It is currently serving more than 6 million students and educators worldwide and certified B Corporation. Its solutions are used in more than 160 countries and available in 11 languages.
