Avail Technologies, a Hull, UK-based haulage recruitment company, raised £350k in funding.

The round was led by NPIF – Mercia Equity Finance, which is managed by Mercia and part of the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund, The funding, which committed £300k, with the remaining £50k from Avail’s Chairman, Keverne Watt.

The company intends to use the funds to further develop its platform and app to create more functionality for users.

Launched by Erin Short and Callum Clark in June 2018, Avail Technologies provides a platform that match drivers and employers in the haulage industry removing the need of traditional recruitment agencies for short-term contracts.
The solution works on a smartphone, tablet and web browser application.

The company has already signed up over 1,000 drivers and its first haulage client, the Rotherham-based collective, The Green Group.
