Brytemap, a Hunt Valley, MD-based company that develops SaaS, seed-to-sale cannabis compliance software for the marijuana industry, raised $1.5m in seed funding.
The backers were not disclosed.
The company intends to use the funds to expand its product offerings to emerging markets both on a national and international scale, and begin supporting the newly legalized hemp industry.
Led by CEO and Founder Bryan Lopez, Brytemap provides SaaS, compliance, retail-based software platform for use in medical cannabis dispensaries, which integrates many of the features required to run a dispensary operation, such as Point of Sale (POS), patient loyalty, Short Message Service (SMS), and electronic payment.
The company is also finalizing development of a new cloud-based platform for cannabis growers to track and manage crops and inventory through Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology.
