Mallinda. Inc., a Denver, CO-based maker of reversible thermoset resins, raised $2m in funding.
Sabic Ventures made the strategic investment.
The company intends to use the funds to scale up and to deliver its first commercial product, and accelerate the development of its high-performance materials for the transportation segment.
Led by Chris Kaffer, Co-founder and CEO, Mallinda has developed technology to produce pre-cured reversible thermoset composite materials which eliminate refrigerated transport and storage, scrap, are shelf-stable, and improve cycle time dynamics.
The thermoset composites can be recycled back to monomer in an energy neutral environment for the recovery and reuse of resin and reinforcing fibers.
