Confluent, Inc., a Palo Alto, CA- and London, UK-based enterprise event-streaming platform developer, closed a $125m Series D funding round.
The round, which brought total funding to $206m, was led by Sequoia Capital, with participation from existing investors Index Ventures and Benchmark.
Founded by the original creators of Apache Kafka® and led by Jay Kreps, CEO, Confluent provides an enterprise-ready event streaming platform which allows organizations to benefit from scalability, security and flexibility with offices globally. The company recently released the 5.0 version of its platform, which introduced new capabilities, from making infrastructure more secure reliable and easier to manage, to enabling more applications with streaming data, and launched Confluent Hub, an online service for finding, reviewing and downloading extensions for the Apache Kafka and the platform’s ecosystems.
The company also partnered with Google Cloud to deliver a platform for mission-critical use cases, including event-driven applications, machine learning for advanced analytics and hybrid cloud data pipelines, designated Microsoft as a co-sell partner and launched support for Azure Stack to enable hybrid data streaming with Confluent Platform and Kafka.
Enterprises around the world, including AUDI, Capital One, JPMorgan Chase, Nordea Bank, BT TV, Priceline.com and more already implemented the platform.
