Megacool, a San Francisco, CA-based mobile game tech startup, secured $1.5m in seed funding.
The round was led by Alliance Venture with participation from Norselab and Olympic medalist winner Aksel Lund Svindal.
Founded in June 2015 by Nicolaj Broby Petersen, CEO, Megacool is a mobile game technology startup creating a seamless way to share mobile game moments through GIFs, boosting game downloads through digital word-of-mouth marketing.
The company, which also has an office in Oslo, Norway, also provides mobile game developers with an API for driving downloads and engaging users, utilizing GIFs.
The company intends to use the funds to expand the team, particularly the engineering and development team based in Oslo, Norway, to accelerate product and business development to grow the API and bring developers into the current beta.
