Yogome Closes US$6.6M Series A Funding

Yogome, a Mexico CIty, Mexico-based edtech startup, closed a US$6.6M Series A funding.

The round was led by Seaya Ventures with participation from Variv Capital and Endeavor Catalyst. In conjunction with the funding, Michael Kleindl, Co-Founder and Managing Partner, Seaya Ventures, joined Yogome’s Board.

The company, which has raised $10m in total funding to date, will use the funds to to reach 1 million subscribers and to continue its geographical expansion to China, Korea and Japan.

Founded by Mexicans Manolo Diaz and Alberto Colin, Yogome creates learning experiences through a game-based curriculum as well as captivating characters. More than 1,000 mini games and six different apps comprise its personalized learning platform certified by Yale’s Play2Prevent Lab. New content is added to the platform every month in eight different subjects for grades kindergarten through fifth, available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Simplified Chinese.

95% of its subscribers come from the United States, Latin America and Southeast Asia, and has a presence in more than 50 countries.
