BetterUp Raises $12.9M in Series A Funding

betterupBetterUp, a San Francisco, CA-based career coaching platform, raised $12.9m in Series A funding.

The round was led by DFJ with participation from SV Angel, Freestyle and others.

Led by Alexi Robichaux, co-founder and CEO, BetterUp works with companies, including Facebook, Capital One, Logitech, Square and Deloitte to provide certified, executive-level coaching to employees across the organization to thrive, develop confidence and self-awareness while improve leadership skills for the long term.

The company’s career coaching services include:
– Video coaching sessions with members choosing their coach from an extensive network of top tier ICF certified coaches, therapist and psychologists who are experts in behavioral change with thousands of hours of experience,
– Micro-learnings between sessions with coaches providing videos, podcasts, readings and exercises in bite-sized learnings that can be accomplished anywhere, anytime,
– On-demand engagement with members and coaches messaging each other between sessions for quick check-ins and questions,
analytics: BetterUp’s cutting edge assessments provide behavioral analytics to track key performance behaviors like leadership effectiveness, productivity and happiness.
