Ignition Partners, a Bellevue, Wash. and Palo Alto, Calif.-based early stage, business software venture capital firm, today added Nick Triantos as a venture partner in the new Los Altos office.
Triantos will utilize his background in venture capital and technology to identify new, strategic investments for the firm in the areas of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and VR/AR for the enterprise.
Triantos has joined Ignition from SRI International, the research firm behind inventions such as Siri, the computer mouse and the ARPANET, where he was managing director of the ventures team.
During his time at SRI, he focused on software research labs, covering areas such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, cybersecurity, speech recognition and natural language understanding.
In addition to SRI International, Triantos previously co-founded two companies and served as a CEO twice. Earlier in his career, he worked in venture capital as a partner at Quantum Technology Partners, and a board director of Sand Hill Angels.
Led by Nick Sturiale, managing partner, Ignition Partners specializes in early-stage investments in “consumerized” enterprise IT, cloud computing and big data.
