Omise, a Thailand-based provider of an online payment gateway, raised a third round of financing of undisclosed amount.
Golden Gate Ventures made the investment.
The company, which had raised USD $2.6m in May, intends to use the funds to hire new people and extend beyond its existing borders, including a Singapore-based business development team, as well as a support team to contribute to internal expansion.
Founded in June 2013 by Jun Hasegawa, CEO, Omise provides a one-stop payment solution which allows e-commerce sites in the region to accept credit card payments with a plug-and-play interface build for software developers.
The company currently serves more than 2,000 merchants of both national and international repute including one of the largest e-commerce sites in the country, renowned banks in the region, a local airline, and a telco.
Omise now functions in Thailand and is currently running a closed beta test in Japan and Indonesia.
