Rubicon Global, an Atlanta, GA-based provider of cloud-based waste and recycling solutions, raised $50m in funding.
The round, which brought Rubicon’s valuation to $500m, was led by Nima Capital with participation from Goldman Sachs, Wellington Management Company, co-founder of KKR, Henry Kravis, founder of Tudor Investment Corporation, Paul Tudor Jones II, and actor, Leonardo DiCaprio. In addition to the funding, Strategic Chief Advisor and board member at Uber David Plouffe is joining the company’s board of advisors.
The company will use the funds to scale its current technology and expand on-demand and mid-market services.
