CoinTent, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of a micropayments solution enabling publishers to sell individual articles directly from their own sites, raised $1.075k in funding.
Backers included Foundry Group, QueensBridge Venture Partners, Mark Pincus, Donna Dubinsky, Leonard Shustek and Andrew Tisch.
Founded in 2013 by Bradley Ross, CEO, CoinTent is a micropayments company that has just launched micropayments and paywall solutions for publishers. During its beta, the company’s solutions have gone live on over 25 sites across a number of verticals. Available through API or WordPress plugin, the newly launched service can be set up to run alongside existing paywall solutions or as a standalone option. The service charges a payment processing fee based on the size of the transaction.
