Quantenna Communications, Inc., a Fremont, CA-based provider of ultra-high performance Wi-Fi solutions, closed a new investment round of $22m.
Backers included new investors Centerview Capital Technology, Vivint and NTT Group and existing investors including Sequoia Capital, DAG Ventures, Rusnano, Sigma Partners and Venrock. In conjunction with the financing, Ned Hooper, a Founding Partner of Centerview Capital Technology, and Harold Hughes, a seasoned executive, joined Quantenna’s Board of Directors.
The company intends to use the funds to expand its investment in technology and customer success.
Led by Dr. Sam Heidari, CEO, Quantenna provides ultra-high performance Wi-Fi semiconductor and system software solutions. It pioneered the delivery of seamless multimedia video and data indoors and outdoors, 4×4 chipsets that apply and expand 802.11n and 802.11ac Wi-Fi standards, and MU-MIMO technology for transmitting data to multiple devices at once, increasing Wi-Fi network capacity while using the same amount of limited spectrum.
