PrestaShop, a Miami, FL and Paris, France-based provider of a free and open source e-commerce software, raised $9.3m in Series B funding.
Backers included XAnge Private Equity, Seventure Partners and Serena Capital.
The company intends to use the funds for growth and international expansion, product development, and marketing initiatives.
Launched in 2007 and led by Bruno Lévêque and Benjamin Teszner, CEO, PrestaShop offers a free and open source e-commerce software that powers more than 165,000 online stores worldwide processing more than $15 billion in sales. Its “freemium” business model allows merchants to build and manage an online store at no cost. They can also opt in for customized services and choose from thousands of features, modules and templates for additional fees.
An active community of more than 600,000 dedicated members contribute with coding, templates, translation services and localization in more than 60 languages.
