Agora Mobile Raises $1M in Venture Capital

ceo agoraAgora Mobile, a Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada-based social network for mobile apps, raised $1m in venture capital.

The round was led by the New Brunswick Innovation Foundation (which invested $500k) with the remainder provided by East Valley Ventures and several angel investors.

The company intends to use the funds to go live with its beta version.

Led by CEO and co-founder Simon Gauvin, Agora provides a patented system for developers (from beginners to experts) to build and test mobile apps that work on Apple, Android, Windows and Blackberry.
The social network provides a platform for the delivery and sale of apps to its members – replacing the app store.
