RedMart Raises $5.4M

redmart.comRedMart.com, a Singapore-based online grocery service, raised $5.4m in bridge financing.

The round, which is a precursor to a larger Series B financing and brought total funding since inception to $10m, was led by Eduardo Saverin (Facebook Co-­founder), Steve Melhuish and Jani Rautiainen (Property Guru Founders, their 2nd investment in RedMart), Meng Weng Wong (Co-­founder of incubator JFDI), Wee Teng Wen (founder of The Lo & Behold Group) and Lion Rock Capital (headed by Hari Kumar, founder of TPG Axon).

The company intends to use the funds to build out fulfillment technology and infrastructure to accommodate.

Founded in March 2011 by Vikram Rupani, Rajesh Lingappa and Roger Egan (CEO), RedMart.com provides an online service that offers a wide range of groceries and household essentials with home delivery working 7 days a week.
