Lightpoint Medical Ltd, a Rickmansworth, UK-based developer of innovative imaging technologies for cancer surgery, raised £175k (approximately $270k) in seed funding.
The round was led by Oxford Technology Management, with participation from Oxford Early Investments, Minerva, the University of Warwick Science Park Business Angel Network, the Wroxall Investors Group, and additional angel investors.
Founded in 2012 by Dr David Tuch, CEO, Lightpoint Medical is developing a novel molecular imaging technology (based on Cerenkov luminescence imaging) to help surgeons detect cancer in real time during surgery, providing more accurate treatment while sparing healthy tissue.
