GetMyBoat.com Raises $500K in Angel Funding

GetMyBoat.com, a San Francisco, CA-based site that allows consumers to rent boats, raised $500k in angel funding.

The names of the backers were not disclosed.

The company intends to use the caqpital to enhance its marketing efforts, adding personnel, and advance its product.

Led by Sascha Mornell, CEO and Co-founder, Rafael Collado, CTO and Co-founder, and Bryan Petro, Head of Product, GetMyBoat.com is a peer-to-peer marketplace for watercraft rental. It serves renters and owners of every type of boat across the world, from California to Croatia and from kayaks to catamarans.
GetMyBoat has free listings for boat owners, including photos, video, boat specs, pricing, and scheduling, chat functionality, online calendar application, private and charter boat listings, no fees, commissions or monthly membership dues.
Signing up on the site, listing watercraft, and completing reservations is free of charge.
Officially launched on March 5, the site has already added 400 additional boats (to the previous 2,000).
