MetGen Raises €2.2M in Funding

MetGen Oy, a  Kaarina, Finland-based cleantech company, raised €2.2m in funding.

The round was led by Sofinnova PartnersSofinnova Green Seed Fund, with participation from Finnish Industry Investment and Finnvera.

The company intends to use the funds for the commercial roll-out and development of new products. MetGen currently runs industrial trials with several European partners and plans to market its solutions in Europe (Scandinavia, Germany, France) and North America. Founded in 2006 by Alex Michine, CEO, MetGen develops enzymatic products that are designed to enable efficiency improvements in the pulp and paper and biofuels industries, as well as removal of toxic micro-pollutants from waste water.
