Curalate Raises $3M in Series A Financing

Curalate, a NYC and Philadelphia, PA-based Pinterest analytics and marketing platform, raised $3m in Series A financing.

The round was led by NEA with participation from First Round Capital and MentorTech Ventures. The investment follows a $750k seed round from the same three investors (read here). In conjunction with this funding, Patrick Chung, partner, NEA, and Josh Kopelman, partner, First Round Capital, have joined Curalate’s board of directors.

The company intends to use the capital to expand product development and marketing efforts, as well extend to platforms beyond Pinterest, such as Instagram, which will be announced in the coming weeks.

Co-founded by Apu Gupta, CEO, and Nick Shiftan, CT0, Curalate uses advanced image recognition algorithms to enable brands to measure, monitor and grow brand engagement on visual social media sites such as Pinterest.
It is used by brands and agencies across multiple sectors, including consumer packaged goods, retail, publishing, luxury, automotive and media.
