Wayfair.com Raises $36.3M in Equity Financing

Wayfair.com, a Boston, Massachusetts-based online retailer of home goods and furnishings, has raised $36.3m in equity financing.

Backers include Battery Ventures, Great Hill Partners, HarbourVest Partners and Spark Capital.

The company intends to use the capital to expand Joss & Main, its membership-based website that offers home goods and furnishings via daily events, spotlight collections highlighting design trends and styles, and curated collections in collaboration with celebrities and notable influencers within the design community, which has nearly three million members.  It is led by John Mulliken, co-founder and General Manager.

Led by Niraj Shah, CEO and co-founder, Wayfair.com offers a large online catalog of furniture, lighting, cookware and other items for home. It also operates AllModern.com. Wayfair.com employs more than 1000 people and operates distribution and operations centers in Ogden, Utah and Hebron, Kentucky, and international offices in Galway, Ireland, London, Berlin and Sydney.
