MakieLab Raises $1.4M in Seed Funding

MakieLab, a London- and Helsinki-based smart toys company, has raised $1.4m in seed funding.

The round was led by Lifeline Ventures and Sunstone Capital, with participation from industry veterans Matthew Wiggins, Daniel James and Cedric Littardi of Ynnis Ventures.

Led by founder and CEO Alice Taylor, MakieLab has also announced the open alpha launch of MAKIES, a user-designed, 3D-printed action doll (http://makie.me).

The company intends to use the funding to build out MAKIES, to head for kids with a kid-specific product, and to create other solutions to connect with games & toys.

MakieLab is currently hiring.
