Global Knowledge Acquired by MidOcean Partners

Global Knowledge, a Cary, N.C.-based provider of IT and business skills training, has been acquired by New York-based private equity firm MidOcean Partners.

The investment aims to enable the company to accelerate its growth plan in response to the changing market needs and further develop and deliver innovative training solutions.

Following the transaction, Brian Branson, President and CEO of Global Knowledge and the senior management team will continue in their capacity. They will be supported by Jim Kelly, who has been named Executive Chairman.

Founded in 1995, the company provides enterprise and government organizations with more than 1,200 courses, which span foundational and specialized training and certifications.
Its core training is focused on Cisco, Microsoft, Avaya, VMware, Red Hat, business process improvement, and leadership development.
Global Knowledge, which delivers courses via its global training centers, private facilities, and the Internet, currently employs more than 1,300 people worldwide.
