Aventé Medical Products Ltd, a Liverpool, UK-based start up that develops a range of single-use medical devices, has received a £50k investment from the £25m North West Fund for Biomedical.
The company intends to use the funds to consolidate its intellectual property position, complete an independent market survey and finalize product design in preparation for manufacture.
Established in May 2011, Aventé has already received positive encouragement from both the NHS and private healthcare purchasers.
The North West Fund for Biomedical, which is managed by venture capital firm SPARK Impact, is part of the £185m evergreen fund provided by the European Investment Bank (EIB) and European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), to supply debt and equity funding to small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in the North West of England.
