Doximity Secures $10.8M Series A Venture Capital Financing

Doximity, a San Mateo, CA-based health technology company that operates a free communication platform that links medical professionals, secured a $10.8m Series A venture capital financing.
Investors include Emergence Capital Partners and InterWest Partners.
The company intends to use the funds to further develop its network, which
allows physicians to use their iPhone, iPad, Android device or computer to connect with any U.S. physician to collaborate on patient treatment or identify the appropriate expert for patient referrals.
Doximity’s application also offers physicians the first HIPAA-compliant text messaging system supporting care teams with high-resolution images.
The company is led by Jeff Tangney, the co-founder and former President & COO of Epocrates(NASDAQ: EPOC).
