Moleskine, a Milan, Italy-based company that creates, produces, and distributes iconic notebooks and diaries, has received an equity investment of undisclosed amount from Index Ventures Growth and Syntegra Capital.
The investment will support Moleskine in growing in its main channels (especially bookstores, specialized and art/design retailers), expanding:
– into markets with high growth potential, such as China, India, and Brazil,
– into other product categories such as writing instruments, soft goods,reading instruments
– its online presence.
Led by CEO Arrigo Berni, the company creates and distributes notebooks, diaries, journals, bags, writing instruments and reading accessories. In 2008, It established an American affiliate, Moleskine America, Inc, with offices in New York.
The company currently has 85 employees.
