WebPT Closes $1M Series A Funding Round

WebPT, a Phoenix, Arizona-based company that develops an online electronic medical records system (EMR) for physical therapists, has closed a $1m Series A private equity funding round.
The company intends to use the funds to expand its team in the areas of product development, sales and marketing and to build out infrastructure.
In the next few months, WebPT will announce new features and key product integrations
The deal was closed this week with Canal Partners, led by JDA Software founder and chairman Jim Armstrong, and entrepreneur and investor Todd Belfer.
In conjunction with the funding, Mr. Armstrong will join the company’s board of directors.
Founded in 2008 by Heidi and Brad Jannenga (CTO) and led by CEO Paul Winandy, WebPT is designed to make electronic medical records more affordable, mobile, and intuitive to physical therapists. It is currently used by more than 5,000 therapists.
