Thayer Ventures Closes Fund III, at $80M

Thayer Ventures, a San Francisco, CA-based early stage venture capital firm focused specifically on technology innovation in travel and transportation, closed its third fund, at $80m.

Limited Partners include strategic investors, family offices, sovereign wealth funds and other institutional capital.

Led by Jeff Jackson, Chris Hemmeter and Mark Farrell, Thayer Ventures Fund III will invest in new startups in the $10 trillion global travel and transportation industries. Investments already made out of Fund III include cross-industry connectivity platform Beekeeper, commercial cleaning robotics innovator Dishcraft Robotics, mobility pioneer May Mobility, and hotel management disruptor Lifehouse.

Thayer Ventures supports its capital investments with a network of decision makers to help capture proprietary deal flow, offer portfolio companies tactical and strategic value, and drive investor returns.

The firm manages four active investment vehicles with over $100 million in capital and over 20 active portfolio companies.
