Fyusion Raises $30M in Funding

fyusionFyusion, a San Francisco, CA-based develper of technology that allows for 3D capture with any camera, creating interactive images that are viewable on any device, raised $30m in funding.

The round was led by Cox Automotive as a part of a strategic partnership with its brand Manheim, which will offer dealers next-generation capabilities, including enhanced merchandising with 360-degree and 3D imaging for Manheim Express and wholesale services.
Fyusion and Manheim also are planning future innovations that will bring more artificial intelligence (AI) and improved objectivity to condition reports.

Led by Radu Rusu, CEO and co-founder, Fyusion combines computer vision and machine learning to make images intelligent and beautiful. Its core technology, covered by over 50 patents, allows anyone to create immersive, interactive 3D images called ‘fyuses’ by moving any camera around a person, object or scene.
Fyuses are viewable on any platform: web, mobile, VR, AR and Mixed Reality. For a similar file size to a high quality JPEG, users can interact with 3D images in up to 360 degree surround view by tilting or swiping their screen.

Beyond Manheim, Fyusion is partnering with other Cox Automotive brands to differentiate the client experience in the digital marketplace.

The company had previously raised $40m.
