Trucker Tools, LLC, a Reston, VA-based provider of shipment visibility, carrier capacity management and predictive freight-matching solutions for the transportation industry, completed a $4.4m Series A funding round.
The round was subscribed by current investors.
The company intends to use the funds to support product development and customer acquisition.
Led by Prasad Gollapalli, founder and CEO, Trucker Tools provides trip planning, shipment visibility and freight matching solutions for the transportation industry. Its Smart Capacity platform uses real-time data and algorithms to optimally match freight by predicting when and where capacity will become available, days in advance.
The company’s driver smartphone app, which has been downloaded by over 500,000 owner operators and small-carrier drivers to access information and services while on the road, features Load Track, which connects drivers with carriers and freight brokers to eliminate manual check calls. The app integrates with a smart phone’s GPS software to continually capture, in real time, precise location data, which is then transmitted over Trucker Tools’ secure network, and displayed in Smart Capacity’s load tracking and carrier management platform.
