Whoosnap Closes Approx. €1.3M Funding Round

Whoosnap, a Rome, Italy-based startup that allows companies to obtain photos and videos in real time and on demand, closed an approx. €1.3m funding round.

Backers included listed investment firm LVenture Group, which added €95k to previous investments, AS Roma football player Stephan El Shaarawy and some other entrepreneurs, who invested in the company via FocusFuturo.

The company intends to use the funds to distribute its service on an international scale and make a tool to fight fraud available to all insurance companies.

Led by Enrico Scianaro, CEO, Whoosnap has created a platform that connects companies with a community of photographers ready to make real-time and on-demand photos and videos in exchange for an economic reward. Born to find employment mainly in the journalistic field, the startup soon approached the sector of InsurTech, thanks to the combination of the crowdsourcing mechanism combined with a system of certification of the authenticity of the shots.
In August, Whoosnap launched Insoore, a service that connects insurance companies and fleet management companies with thousands of detectors ready to create a photographic documentation of a vehicle on demand and in real time, especially in the event of accidents and first insurance.
Insoore will be distributed globally via an agreement with OCTO Telematics, a leader in the market of the InsurTech.

Today, Whoosnap has more than 300,000 users and a million multimedia content received in response to requests.

Founded in 2015, the company took part in the acceleration program run by Luiss Enlabs.
