Arbe Robotics Raises $9M in Funding

Arbe Robotics, a Tel Aviv, Israel-based provider of ultra-high resolution radar for autonomous cars, completed a $9m funding round.

The round was led by Eyal Ofer’s O.G. Tech Ventures and OurCrowd with participation from existing shareholders Canaan Partners, iAngels, and Taya Ventures.

The company will use the funds to bring its high-resolution radar system into full production, and enable its technology to be installed in autonomous cars within the upcoming year, and and open its first customer support center in Silicon Valley.

Founded in November 2015 by Kobi Marenko (CEO), Noam Arkind (CTO), and Oz Fixman (COO), Arbe Robotics previously worked on a complete collision avoidance system for drones and then transitioned the technology to autonomous cars and created an imaging radar system as the base for autonomous drive.
The company’s proprietary radar patented processing method is a full stack 4D imaging system that provides a long range, high resolution radar solution for the automotive industry.

Arbe’s platform implements two advanced technologies to create a comprehensive solution for autonomous cars:
– Ultra High Resolution Radar, which is the most important parameter for autonomous drive since it allows the radar to identify pedestrians and obstacles in any weather and lighting conditions;
– Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM), an algorithm that provides improved target separation and enhanced resolution, while completely removing false alarms, which confuse the system and may lead to malfunctions and accidents on the road.
