M.Gemi Raises $16M in Series C Funding

M.Gemi, a Boston, MA-based direct to consumer accessories brand, received a $16M Series C funding round.

The investment was led by BurdaPrincipal Investments, the growth capital arm of Hubert Burda Media, with continued participation from Accel, General Catalyst Partners, and Forerunner Ventures.

The company, which has now raised $47.2M in total funding, will use the capital to accelerate investment in technology to enhance predictive analytics, and the brand’s supply chain in Italy.

Founded in 2015 by CEO Ben Fischman, President Cheryl Kaplan and Chief Merchant Maria Gangemi, M.Gemi combines craftsmanship with technology and accessibility to release new products (mainly shoes) for men and women each week. Each piece is handmade in Italy by craftspeople at renowned family-owned workshops, with new styles released each Monday.
M.Gemi also has offices in New York and Florence, and storefronts in New York City’s Soho neighborhood and Boston’s Prudential Center.
