Waud Capital Partners, a Chicago, IL-based growth-oriented lower middle-market private equity firm with $2.1 billion under management, appointed Phil Olson as Principal – Business Development, effective immediately.
Olson is the initial member of the firm’s Business Development group and increases the Waud Capital team to 27 investment and finance professionals, three operating partners and one executive partner. Based in Chicago, he will focus on identifying investment opportunities within the Firm’s business and technology services vertical.
Olson brings more than 15 years of investment banking experience in technology and technology-enabled business services. Previously, he served as a Managing Director at William Blair & Co., where he focused on technology, and more specifically, financial technology, payments, technology-enabled business models and vertical software businesses.
Throughout his career, he has completed more than 100 technology and business services-related transactions. Olson began his career as an analyst at Merrill Lynch.
