Lookback Raises $6M in Funding

lookbackLookback, a Menlo Park — based provider of a UX research platform, raised $6M in funding.

The round was led by Spectrum 28, with participation from Index Ventures and Lakestar.

The company intends to use the funds to expand its operations.

Co-founded in 2013 in Sweden by Nevyn Bengtsson and brothers Jonatan Littke and Carl Littke, Lookback is the maker of a design and user experience research platform which allows companies to understand their users by asking them to participate in user research. The platform either records or livestreams the participant’s interaction with their device their screen, face, voice and gestures so that UX researchers and designers can watch and understand how to improve products.
With its most recent product, Lookback Live, researchers can speak back to remote participants to moderate a realtime session, even on mobile, as well as invite colleagues (usually designers and developers) to watch sessions and take notes, all in realtime, streamed over the internet via the platform.
Customers include Facebook, Netflix, Dropbox, MailChimp, SAP, Trello, SoundCloud, among others.
